Lyrics

(Zechariah )

Zechariah begins with a plea,

“Return to the Lord, and He’ll return to thee.

Your ancestors rebelled and turned away,

Don’t follow their path; seek God today.

Repent and obey, make your hearts right,

For God’s mercy shines like a guiding light.”

Zechariah reminds us of God’s great love,

Calling us back to the One above.

God gave Zechariah visions by night,

Revealing His plans and His glorious might.

Four horsemen patrolled, the nations were still,

But God would act according to His will.

A measuring line showed Jerusalem’s plan,

A city of peace, protected by God’s hand.

Zechariah’s visions bring hope anew,

That God will restore and see us through.

Joshua the priest stood in filthy attire,

Accused by Satan, called a liar.

But God rebuked the accuser’s claim,

And cleansed Joshua in His holy name.

“I’ve removed your sin, you’re clean and free,

A sign of the Messiah who’s yet to be.”

Zechariah points to Jesus, our perfect priest,

Who cleanses sinners, from greatest to least.

Zechariah saw a lampstand bright,

Lit by oil from trees on left and right.

God declared, “Not by might or power,

But by My Spirit, in this hour.

Zerubbabel’s hands will finish the task,

For My strength is all you need to ask.”

Zechariah shows that God supplies,

The strength we need to rise and thrive.

Zechariah foretells of a future day,

When the King will come to show the way.

“Rejoice, O Zion, your King is near,

Humble and riding on a donkey, appear.

He’ll bring peace to the ends of the earth,

And reign forever, a kingdom of worth.”

Zechariah points to Jesus Christ,

The Savior who paid the ultimate price.

God declares judgment on nations who fight,

Against His people and His holy might.

But for His remnant, He’ll bring relief,

Comfort their sorrow, and end their grief.

“I’ll pour out grace, a spirit of prayer,

They’ll look on the One who their sins did bear.”

Zechariah shows how God will save,

Through His Son, who rose from the grave.

Zechariah ends with a vision of peace,

When war and evil will finally cease.

The Lord will reign as King of all,

And nations will gather at His call.

Living waters will flow from His throne,

And His glory will fill the earth alone.

Zechariah points to the end of the story,

When God’s kingdom comes in all its glory.

The book of Zechariah is a message of hope,

For a people who struggled to endure and cope.

It speaks of God’s justice, mercy, and plan,

To restore His people and save every man.

It points to Jesus, the humble King,

Who brings salvation and everything.

Zechariah calls us to trust and obey,

For God’s kingdom is coming one day.
