(Malachi )

Malachi begins with a declaration of love,

From the Lord who reigns above.

“I have loved you,” says the Lord,

But Israel questions His Word.

“Was not Esau rejected and Jacob chosen?

My love for you is sure, unbroken.”

Malachi reminds us of God’s grace,

Faithful to His people in every place.

The priests dishonored God’s great name,

Offering sacrifices that brought Him shame.

“You bring me blemished offerings and say,

‘It doesn’t matter, it’s just the way.’

But I’m a great King, worthy of praise,

Honor Me rightly all your days.”

Malachi warns us to honor the Lord,

With pure hearts and actions that match His Word.

Malachi rebukes the people’s sin,

For breaking their covenant again.

“You’ve broken faith with your wives,

Despised the vows that bind your lives.

I hate divorce, it tears apart,

Return to Me with a faithful heart.”

Malachi teaches us to love and care,

And honor our promises everywhere.

“You’ve robbed Me,” says the Lord of Hosts,

In tithes and offerings, you’ve failed the most.

“Bring the full tithe into My store,

Test Me and see—I’ll bless you more.

I’ll open the heavens, pour out My grace,

And protect your crops in every place.”

Malachi calls us to give with joy,

And trust in God to bless and employ.

Malachi foretells a messenger’s way,

Who’ll prepare hearts for the Lord’s great day.

“I’ll send My servant to clear the path,

Before the Lord comes in holy wrath.

He’ll refine like fire, cleanse like soap,

Purify hearts, and restore your hope.”

Malachi points to John the Baptist’s call,

Preparing the way for the Savior of all.

The day is coming, burning like fire,

When the wicked will face God’s ire.

But for those who fear His name,

The sun of righteousness will rise again.

With healing wings, joy will abound,

As God’s justice and peace resound.

Malachi reminds us to live in His light,

And trust in His power to make all things right.

Malachi ends with a solemn plea,

“Remember the law given through Moses to thee.

I’ll send Elijah before the great day,

To turn hearts back, to show the way.

If you refuse, destruction will come,

But those who repent will be welcomed home.”

Malachi calls us to follow the Lord,

And live in obedience to His holy Word.

The book of Malachi is a heartfelt cry,

From God to His people, asking “Why?”

Why dishonor His name, reject His ways,

And forget His mercy through all their days?

It calls for repentance, a return to His love,

And points to the Savior sent from above.

Malachi ends with hope for the day,

When God’s kingdom will come to stay.
