Lyrics
(Genesis)
In the beginning, God made it all,
Light and darkness, the heavens tall.
Land and seas, the plants that grow,
Sun and moon, stars that glow.
Creatures of water, birds that soar,
Land animals, humans—made to adore.
On the seventh day, He rested, blessed,
The Garden of Eden, humanity's test.
A serpent came with lies to Eve,
The fruit forbidden, they were deceived.
Knowledge gained, but sin was born,
Naked, ashamed, creation torn.
Cursed the serpent, toil and strife,
Pain in birth, the end of life.
Expelled from Eden, guarded tree,
The fall of man, eternity.
Cain the farmer, Abel the sheep,
Offerings made, but jealousy deep.
Cain struck his brother, blood was spilled,
A curse to wander, a land unfilled.
Marked for protection, Cain moved on,
Eve bore Seth, a new dawn.
Wickedness grew, the earth was vile,
But Noah found favor, righteous and mild.
God gave instructions, an ark to build,
Pairs of creatures, His plan fulfilled.
Rain for forty, waters rise,
Mount Ararat, dove flies.
A covenant made, rainbow sign,
Never again will the flood define.
From Noah's sons, nations spread,
One language spoken, pride ahead.
A tower built to touch the skies,
God confused them, scattered lives.
From Shem to Abram, ten generations long,
A call to leave, where he belonged.
Abraham obeyed, a promise received,
A nation great, through him conceived.
Famine struck, Egypt's land,
Pharaoh afflicted by God's hand.
Lot was rescued, a priest appeared,
Covenant made, God's voice was clear.
Isaac born, a promised seed,
A sacrifice stopped, God's love decreed.
Isaac and Jacob .....................................
Twins in Rebekah, nations foretold,
Esau the hunter, Jacob bold.
Birthright sold for a bowl of stew,
Deception followed, blessings too.
Jacob fled, a ladder dream,
God's covenant, His voice supreme.
Rachel loved, Leah bore sons,
Twelve tribes formed, the promise runs.
Joseph favored, dreams divine,
Brothers' hatred, a pit confined.
Sold to Egypt, Potiphar's hand,
Falsely accused, imprisoned man.
Dreams interpreted, famine foresaw,
Pharaoh exalted, Joseph stood tall.
Brothers bowed, forgiveness shown,
What they meant for evil, God had known.
Jacob blessed, the scepter stays,
Joseph’s bones await the promised days.
From creation to covenant, sin and grace,
God’s hand guides the human race.
Promises kept, redemption planned,
Through every trial, His love stands.
