(RUTH)
In the days of Judges, famine came,
Elimelech left, seeking food and gain.
With Naomi, his wife, and sons in tow,
To Moab’s land they chose to go.
But tragedy struck, her husband died,
Her sons soon followed, leaving no guide.
Naomi grieved, her life undone,
Far from her home, without anyone.
Naomi heard the Lord had blessed,
Bethlehem’s fields with food and rest.
She rose to return, her heart in despair,
Her daughters-in-law, she told, “Stay there.”
But Ruth declared, “I’ll not depart,
Where you go, I’ll go, with all my heart.
Your people, my people, your God, my Lord,
I’ll stay with you, bound by His Word.”
In Bethlehem’s fields, Ruth went to glean,
Gathering grain where the harvest was seen.
She worked with care, from dawn to night,
Providing for Naomi with all her might.
Boaz noticed her, kind and wise,
He blessed her labor and met her eyes.
He gave her favor, protection, and food,
God’s provision shown, His love renewed.
Naomi knew of Boaz’s name,
A kinsman-redeemer, with rights to claim.
She told Ruth, “Go, and seek his care,
He’ll redeem us, if he’s willing to share.”
Ruth approached him, her heart sincere,
And Boaz answered, “Do not fear.
I’ll redeem you, but first must see,
If another has the right to thee.”
Boaz went to the city gate,
To settle the matter, to know their fate.
He spoke to the kinsman, the law was told,
But the man refused, afraid to hold.
Boaz declared, “I’ll take my place,
To redeem Ruth and her family’s space.”
He married Ruth, God’s plan revealed,
Through their union, His promise sealed.
The Lord blessed Ruth, a son was born,
Joy restored where hearts were torn.
Naomi rejoiced, her sorrow healed,
Through Ruth’s child, God’s love revealed.
Obed was his name, a lineage begun,
A path to David, Israel’s kingly son.
Through Ruth’s faith, God’s plan would grow,
A Savior to come, His grace to show.
From famine to fullness, grief to praise,
God worked through Ruth in mysterious ways.
Her loyalty, love, and faith so strong,
Displayed His mercy all along.
A Moabite woman, redeemed by grace,
Folded into God’s chosen race.
Through her story, His plan shines bright,
A Redeemer for all, His love and light.
