Lyrics

(Obadiah)

Obadiah speaks of Edom’s fall,

A proud nation destined to lose it all.

They lived in the cliffs, so high and steep,

But God would bring them down, their pride to reap.

“You trusted your strength, your wisdom, your might,

But I will humble you, show you My might.”

Obadiah warns against prideful ways,

For God humbles the proud in all their days.

Edom stood by when Judah fell,

Rejoicing as Jerusalem became a shell.

They looted their brothers, they blocked their way,

And handed survivors to enemies that day.

God saw their hatred, their sinful delight,

And promised to punish their evil outright.

Obadiah reminds us to love, not betray,

And to help our neighbors, come what may.

“The Day of the Lord is drawing near,”

Obadiah warns with words severe.

God’s judgment will come on every land,

No one will escape His mighty hand.

“As you have done, so it will be,

Your deeds will return upon your family.”

Obadiah shows that sin has a cost,

And justice will come for the proud and lost.

Edom’s destruction will be complete,

Their power and pride will face defeat.

Their allies will turn and betray their trust,

Their wisdom will fail, their cities to dust.

No remnant will remain in their place,

For God’s judgment will wipe out their race.

Obadiah warns of God’s wrath and might,

For no one can stand against His fight.

Yet hope shines bright for Israel’s land,

God will stretch out His saving hand.

Zion will rise, her enemies fall,

God will restore His people, one and all.

The faithful will live in their rightful place,

Blessed by God’s mercy and His grace.

Obadiah shows that God will defend,

His people’s cause to the very end.

The kingdom of Edom will disappear,

But God’s kingdom will forever persevere.

His people will rule over the land,

As God establishes His mighty hand.

The nations will face His righteous decree,

And His glory will reign eternally.

Obadiah points to the coming King,

Who will bring justice and healing.

Obadiah’s message is short but clear,

A warning to those who don’t revere.

Pride leads to downfall; betrayal is sin,

But God’s mercy restores those who trust in Him.

It calls us to walk in humility’s way,

To love our neighbors and seek God each day.

Obadiah reminds us of God’s great plan,

To humble the proud and redeem His land.

The book of Obadiah is brief but strong,

A warning that pride and betrayal are wrong.

It speaks of judgment, both swift and just,

For those who in their pride misplace their trust.

Yet it ends with hope for the faithful and true,

For God’s kingdom is coming for me and you.

Obadiah calls us to trust in His name,

And walk humbly before Him, free from shame.
