Micah

Micah, a prophet from a humble place,

Was called by God to speak of His grace.

To Israel and Judah, he brought the Word,

Warning of judgment for sins he observed.

Injustice, idolatry, greed, and pride,

Would bring destruction none could hide.

Micah reminds us to hear and obey,

To walk with God and not turn away.

Micah declared that judgment would fall,

On Samaria’s idols and Jerusalem’s wall.

The leaders were corrupt, their hearts untrue,

They oppressed the poor, and justice they slew.

The cities would fall, the land desolate,

For God’s patience would not forever wait.

Micah shows that sin has a cost,

And warns of destruction for those who are lost.

Woe to those who plot at night,

To steal and oppress by power and might.

They covet fields, they take what’s not theirs,

Ignoring justice, ignoring prayers.

But God will rise and break their schemes,

Their wealth and power are fleeting dreams.

Micah calls for justice, mercy, and care,

For the weak and the poor, everywhere.

Amid the warnings, hope shines through,

God promises to make all things new.

Zion will rise, her enemies fall,

And nations will gather to hear God’s call.

“Out of Bethlehem, a Ruler will come,

To shepherd My people, to bring them home.

He’ll bring peace and reign with might,

And lead His people in truth and light.”

Micah points to Jesus, the Savior and King,

Whose eternal kingdom will healing bring.

The Lord brought His people to court,

To show them how they’d fallen short.

“I rescued you from slavery’s hand,

I brought you safely to this land.

What have I done that you turn from Me?

Why do you love sin and reject My plea?”

Micah reminds us of God’s great care,

And calls us to worship and meet Him in prayer.

“What does the Lord require of you?”

Micah asks, and answers true:

“To act justly, to love mercy,

And walk humbly with God, in all purity.”

God seeks our hearts, not empty show,

But lives of love, wherever we go.

Micah calls us to live upright,

To honor God and walk in His light.

Micah ends with a song of praise,

To God who is faithful in all His ways.

“Who is a God like You,” he sings,

“Forgiving sins and all they bring?

You don’t stay angry, You delight in love,

You cast our sins to the depths from above.”

Micah reminds us of God’s great plan,

To redeem and restore His people again.

The book of Micah is a prophet’s cry,

To turn from sin and lift our eyes high.

It warns of judgment, but hope shines bright,

In God’s mercy, love, and guiding light.

It points to Christ, the promised One,

Born in Bethlehem, God’s own Son.

Micah calls us to live with care,

To seek justice and love everywhere.
