(MATTHEW)

Matthew begins with a family tree,

Tracing Jesus’ roots for all to see.

From Abraham to David, the line is clear,

The promised Messiah is finally here.

Born of a virgin, God’s plan unfolds,

Emmanuel, “God with us,” as prophets foretold.

Matthew shows us that Jesus is King,

Fulfilling the prophecies of everything.

Jesus taught the crowds on a mountainside,

Blessings for the humble, the meek, the tried.

“Blessed are the poor, the pure, the peacemakers too,

For the kingdom of heaven belongs to you.

You’re salt and light, let your good deeds shine,

Love your enemies with love divine.”

Matthew reveals the heart of the King,

And the righteousness His followers bring.

Jesus healed the sick, gave sight to the blind,

He calmed the storm, brought peace to the mind.

He fed the hungry, walked on the sea,

Showed His power and His deity.

Demons fled, the dead were raised,

The crowds were amazed and gave Him praise.

Matthew shows Jesus, the Savior and Lord,

With power to heal and life restored.

Jesus taught in parables, stories profound,

Of seeds, treasures, and pearls to be found.

“The kingdom is like a mustard seed,

Small at first, but grows indeed.

The treasure of heaven is worth the cost,

Give all you have, don’t let it be lost.”

Matthew reveals the kingdom’s worth,

A treasure of joy, greater than earth.

The Pharisees questioned, the scribes accused,

But Jesus’ wisdom left them confused.

“Woe to you, hypocrites, blind guides!”

He exposed their hearts and their pride.

They plotted to kill Him, their hatred grew,

But Jesus stayed faithful, His mission true.

Matthew warns us of hearts turned cold,

And calls us to follow the Shepherd’s fold.

Betrayed by Judas, arrested at night,

Jesus faced trial without a fight.

Mocked and beaten, crowned with thorns,

He bore the cross, His body torn.

He died for sinners, was laid in a grave,

But on the third day, He rose to save.

Matthew proclaims the victory won,

Through the death and life of God’s own Son.

Before He ascended, Jesus gave a decree,

“Go and make disciples of all you see.

Baptize them in the Father, Spirit, and Son,

Teach them to follow all I’ve done.

I am with you, to the end of days,

So go and proclaim My name always.”

Matthew ends with a call to proclaim,

The gospel of Christ, His saving name.

The book of Matthew tells the story,

Of Jesus Christ in His full glory.

The promised Messiah, the King of all,

Who came to save us from the fall.

Through His life, His death, and His rising again,

He brought salvation to sinful men.

Matthew calls us to trust and obey,

To follow the King and His kingdom’s way.
