(Joshua)

Moses was gone, the servant of God,

Now Joshua stood where his leader had trod.

The Lord commanded, "Be strong, don’t fear,

I’ll go with you, My presence is near.

Every place your feet will tread,

I’ve given to you, just as I said.

Meditate on My law, keep it in sight,

And you’ll have success, your path will be right."

The Jordan River, deep and wide,

Israel stood on the other side.

The priests stepped in, the waters fled,

The river parted where they tread.

Twelve stones taken, a memorial made,

To remember the path that God had laid.

Through rushing waters, dry ground appeared,

God’s power displayed, His people cheered.

Jericho stood with walls so high,

But God had a plan to make them die.

“March around for seven days,

Blow the trumpets, give Me praise.

On the seventh day, give a shout,

The walls will fall, My power will rout.”

The city fell, His promise true,

The Lord delivered, His hand broke through.

Victory turned to sudden defeat,

At Ai, the enemy could not be beat.

Sin in the camp, Achan’s greed,

He took the spoils, ignored God’s decree.

The Lord revealed what was concealed,

Achan’s sin, in judgment, was healed.

With hearts made clean, they fought again,

Ai was conquered, the Lord did win.

The Gibeonites came with worn-out shoes,

A clever plan, their story untrue.

“Make a covenant, we come in peace,”

But their deception would never cease.

Joshua swore and gave his word,

Not seeking counsel from the Lord.

Though they had lied, they were spared,

To serve God’s house, their lives repaired.

Five kings gathered, a mighty fight,

Gibeon called for help that night.

Joshua prayed, and the sun stood still,

God fought for Israel, His power revealed.

Hailstones fell, the enemies fled,

The Lord brought victory, their foes were dead.

The land was conquered, the promise fulfilled,

By God’s great hand and His sovereign will.

The land was divided, each tribe’s share,

A gift from God, His loving care.

Cities of refuge, a place to stay,

For justice and mercy along the way.

Joshua stood, his life near end,

“Serve the Lord, on Him depend.

Choose this day whom you will serve,

But as for me, I’ll keep His Word.”
