Lyrics

(Joel)

Joel begins with a vision of despair,

A plague of locusts fills the air.

The fields are ruined, the harvest gone,

Judah’s land is broken and withdrawn.

This disaster, a warning from God,

To turn from sin and fear His rod.

Joel calls the people to fast and pray,

To seek the Lord without delay.

“The Day of the Lord is drawing near,”

A time of judgment, destruction, and fear.

Darkness and gloom will fill the skies,

As God’s wrath falls and His justice applies.

The nations will tremble, the earth will shake,

For God’s great power no one can mistake.

Joel warns against sin and pride,

And calls for repentance, to turn the tide.

“Return to Me with all your heart,”

God calls His people to make a new start.

“Rend your heart, not just your clothes,

For I’m merciful and heal your woes.

I’m slow to anger, abounding in love,

Gracious and kind, from heaven above.”

Joel reminds us that God forgives,

When we repent, He lets us live.

God promises to heal the land,

To send His blessings by His hand.

“I’ll restore the years the locusts have eaten,

And make you whole, though you’ve been beaten.

The wine and grain will overflow,

My people will thrive, My love they’ll know.”

Joel speaks of God’s faithfulness true,

He restores and provides for me and you.

Joel foretells a day to come,

When God’s Spirit will fall on everyone.

“I’ll pour out My Spirit on all mankind,

Your sons and daughters will dream and find,

Visions and wonders in the sky,

Before the Day of the Lord draws nigh.”

This prophecy points to Pentecost’s flame,

When the Holy Spirit came in Jesus’ name.

God will judge the nations one by one,

For the evil deeds they have done.

In the Valley of Jehoshaphat, they’ll stand,

Facing the justice of God’s own hand.

“Multitudes in the valley of decision,”

Will face the Lord’s righteous precision.

Joel reminds us to trust and obey,

For God’s judgment will come one day.

Joel ends with a vision bright,

Of God’s kingdom, filled with light.

The mountains will drip with wine so sweet,

The hills will flow with blessings complete.

Judah will dwell secure once more,

For God’s presence will forever endure.

Joel points to a future of peace and grace,

When God restores His holy place.

The book of Joel is both warning and light,

A call to repentance, to do what’s right.

It speaks of judgment, the Day of the Lord,

But also of mercy and blessings restored.

It points to Christ, the Spirit’s outpouring,

God’s grace and love, forever enduring.

Joel reminds us to trust and pray,

For God’s kingdom is coming one day.
