Lyrics
(Hosea)
God called Hosea, a prophet of grace,
To show His love for Israel’s disgrace.
“Take Gomer, a wife untrue,
For Israel’s sin, I’ll show you.”
Hosea’s marriage was a living sign,
Of God’s love for His people divine.
Though they were unfaithful, chasing sin,
God’s mercy would call them back again.
Israel turned from God above,
Forsaking His covenant and His love.
They worshiped idols, Baal was their god,
Breaking His law, their paths were flawed.
God’s heart was grieved, His anger burned,
For His people had from Him turned.
Hosea warns of judgment near,
But calls them to repent and draw God near.
Hosea warned of God’s decree,
That Israel would face captivity.
Their unfaithfulness would bring them low,
As Assyria’s armies would overthrow.
God’s blessings removed, His favor withdrawn,
Yet His love for them would carry on.
Hosea shows that sin has a cost,
But God’s mercy seeks the lost.
Though Israel wandered far away,
God’s love for them would never decay.
“How can I give you up?” God cries,
“My compassion burns, I hear your sighs.”
He longs to heal their sinful plight,
And bring them back into His light.
Hosea reminds us of God’s great love,
A mercy that flows from heaven above.
God promised to restore His own,
When they repent and Him alone.
“I will heal their wayward heart,
And from their sins, they’ll depart.
I’ll love them freely, bless their land,
And hold them close with My own hand.”
Hosea points to a future bright,
When God’s people walk in His light.
Hosea calls Israel to seek the Lord,
To turn from sin and obey His Word.
“Come, let us return to God,” he pleads,
“He’ll heal our wounds and meet our needs.
He desires mercy, not sacrifice,
A heart that loves Him, pure and wise.”
Hosea shows that true repentance brings,
Restoration under God’s wings.
Hosea’s story is one of grace,
Of God’s love for a sinful race.
Though His people stray and fall,
God’s mercy and love outshine it all.
He longs for them to turn and see,
His forgiveness and love eternally.
Hosea points to Christ, our Savior divine,
Who redeems and restores by love’s design.
The book of Hosea is tender and true,
A story of God’s love for me and you.
It warns of sin and its painful cost,
But shows His mercy for the lost.
Through Hosea’s life, God’s love is displayed,
A covenant promise that never will fade.
It teaches us to trust and obey,
And rest in His love every day.
