Lyrics

James

James begins with a call to rejoice,

In trials that test faith, we have a choice.

“Consider it joy when trials appear,

They produce endurance, so persevere.

Let patience complete its work in you,

So you may be mature and steadfast too.”

James teaches that through trials we grow,

Faith is refined, and God’s strength we’ll know.

James urges believers to seek God’s mind,

For wisdom that’s pure, gracious, and kind.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, just pray,

God gives generously without delay.

But ask in faith, without any doubt,

For the double-minded are tossed about.”

James reminds us to trust and believe,

God’s wisdom and guidance we’ll receive.

James challenges faith that’s empty and dead,

True faith is shown by the life we’ve led.

“Faith without works is lifeless and bare,

Show me your faith, and I’ll show you my care.

Even demons believe and tremble in fear,

But faith must act, and love must appear.”

James teaches that faith must be alive,

Through deeds of love, it will thrive.

James warns of the tongue’s destructive fire,

It can bless or curse, build up or conspire.

“The tongue is small but can cause great harm,

Like a rudder steering a ship or a farm.

With it we praise God, yet curse mankind,

Let your words be holy, pure, and kind.”

James calls us to tame our speech each day,

Reflecting Christ in all we say.

James calls believers to humble their hearts,

Submitting to God, where wisdom starts.

“Submit to God, resist the devil and flee,

Draw near to God, and He’ll draw near to thee.

Humble yourselves before the Lord,

And He will lift you in His reward.”

James reminds us to live in humility,

Trusting in God’s authority.

James warns against greed and worldly gain,

Calling believers to live unstained.

“Friendship with the world is enmity with God,

Don’t boast of tomorrow or paths you’ll trod.

Wealth fades away, like flowers in the field,

Seek treasures in heaven, where truth is revealed.”

James teaches us to live for the Lord,

Not for the world or earthly reward.
