Lyrics

(1 Peter)

Peter begins with a message of hope,

For believers scattered, struggling to cope.

“Praise be to God for His mercy and grace,

Through Jesus, we’re given a heavenly place.

An inheritance that won’t spoil or fade,

Kept in heaven, for us it’s made.”

1 Peter starts with a joyful tone,

Rejoicing in salvation through Christ alone.

Peter encourages believers to stand,

Firm in faith, by God’s mighty hand.

“Though now you suffer for a little while,

Your faith is refined through every trial.

So be holy, as God is holy too,

Live in reverence in all you do.”

1 Peter reminds us that trials will end,

And God’s eternal glory will descend.

Verse 3: Christ, the Living Stone

Peter proclaims Christ, the cornerstone,

Rejected by men, but chosen by God alone.

“You are living stones, being built into a home,

A spiritual house where God’s people roam.

You’re a royal priesthood, chosen and free,

To declare God’s praise for eternity.”

Peter calls us to build our lives,

On Christ, the foundation where hope thrives.

Peter teaches how believers should live,

Submitting to others, with grace to give.

“Submit for the Lord’s sake to authority’s rule,

Honor the king, but don’t be a fool.

Live as free people, but don’t use your ways,

To cover up sin; instead, give God praise.”

Peter exhorts us to humbly obey,

To honor God in all we say.

Peter calls believers to endure the pain,

For suffering in Christ is never in vain.

“If you suffer for doing good, don’t fear,

Christ suffered for us, so He is near.

Give an answer for the hope you hold,

With gentleness and respect, be bold.”

Peter shows us that suffering’s gain,

Is sharing in Christ’s eternal reign.

Peter urges believers to leave sin behind,

And live for God with a renewed mind.

“Be self-controlled, love one another,

Show hospitality to your sister and brother.

Use your gifts to serve, by God’s design,

So in all things, His glory will shine.”

Peter calls us to live with care,

Serving God and others everywhere.

Peter concludes with a call to stand,

Firm in faith, by God’s strong hand.

“Be alert, your enemy prowls around,

Resist him, standing on solid ground.

After you’ve suffered for a little while,

God will restore you with grace and a smile.”

Peter ends with a word of peace,

God’s eternal glory will never cease.

The book of 1 Peter is a message of grace,

For believers enduring trials in their place.

It calls for hope in salvation’s plan,

And holiness through the work of God’s hand.

It teaches submission, humility, and love,

And points to the glory that waits above.
