Lyrics
(Colossians )
Paul writes to the church with a joyful heart,
To remind them of Christ, who sets them apart.
“He is the image of the invisible God,
The firstborn of creation, perfect in all.
By Him and for Him, all things were made,
In Him, the fullness of God is displayed.”
Colossians proclaims Christ’s authority,
The Lord of all, in eternity.
“You were once alienated, lost in sin,
But through His blood, you’re reconciled within.
He canceled the debt that stood against you,
Nailing it to the cross, making all things new.
Don’t be deceived by hollow thought,
Hold fast to Christ, who your freedom bought.”
Colossians declares salvation’s grace,
Through Jesus alone, who took our place.
Paul warns the church to stand firm and strong,
Against philosophies that lead them wrong.
“Don’t let anyone judge what you eat or drink,
Or enslave your mind with how they think.
Christ is the head, in Him you’re free,
You’ve died to the law, now live joyfully.”
“You’ve been raised with Christ, so set your mind,
On things above, leave the old behind.
Put to death anger, lust, and lies,
Clothe yourself with love that never dies.
Bear with each other, forgive and be kind,
Let Christ’s peace rule in your heart and mind.”
Colossians urges a life transformed,
By Christ’s love and grace reformed.
“Devote yourselves to prayer and praise,
Be watchful and thankful all your days.
Pray for us, that God may open a door,
To share His mystery and truth once more.
Be wise in how you act toward all,
Let your words be gracious, seasoned, and small.”
Colossians calls us to pray and share,
To live for Christ and show His care.
Paul ends with love for the church he knows,
Sending greetings to friends and foes.
“Remember my chains, pray for me,
Grace and peace to you eternally.
Encourage each other, build up the weak,
In Christ’s strength, His kingdom seek.”
Colossians ends with a final plea,
To live in Christ’s love and unity.
The book of Colossians lifts Christ high,
It calls us to live as those made new,
In love, humility, and faith that’s true.
It warns of teachings that lead astray,
And urges us to walk in Christ’s way.
