(2 John)






John begins with a loving tone,


Writing to the chosen lady and her own.


“Grace, mercy, and peace be with you,


From God the Father and Jesus too.


I rejoice to find your children walk right,


In truth and love, in God’s pure light.”


John opens with a greeting sincere,


Encouraging believers to persevere.






John emphasizes the command we know,


To love one another as we go.


“This is love: that we walk in His way,


Obeying His commands every day.


The command you’ve heard from the start,


Is to love one another with all your heart.”


John reminds us that love is key,


To living in Christ obediently.






John warns of deceivers who lead astray,


Denying Christ in what they say.


“Many deceivers have gone out in the land,


Who deny Jesus as The Son of God.


Watch yourselves, and don’t lose your reward,


Stay in the truth and abide in the Lord.”


John cautions to guard the mind,


And watch for lies that can blind.






John calls believers to remain in the truth,


To follow Christ’s teachings from their youth.


“Anyone who runs ahead and does not stay,


In Christ’s teaching has gone astray.


Whoever abides in His Word and grace,


Has both the Father and the Son’s embrace.”


John urges us to stay in the Word,


To live by the truth we’ve seen and heard.
