Ecclesiastes

“Vanity of vanities,” the Teacher declares,

“All is meaningless,” life’s burdens and cares.

Toil and striving, wealth and fame,

All are fleeting, like chasing the wind’s aim.

Generations come, and generations go,

The earth remains, but what do we show?

Ecclesiastes begins with this sobering view,

That life without God has no meaning true.

The Teacher searched for wisdom and gain,

Through pleasure, wealth, and knowledge’s reign.

He built great works, amassed delight,

Yet found no lasting joy in sight.

“For what does man gain from all his toil?

Life’s pursuits end in dust and soil.”

Apart from God, all efforts are vain,

Only He gives meaning to joy and pain.

“There is a time for everything,” the Teacher writes,

“A season for darkness and a season for light.”

A time to plant, a time to reap,

A time to laugh, and a time to weep.

God ordains each moment, great or small,

In His sovereignty, He governs it all.

Though life seems fleeting, God’s plan is sure,

He makes everything beautiful and pure.

Wisdom is good, but it has its end,

It cannot save or fully mend.

Riches increase, yet never satisfy,

For wealth is fleeting, and all must die.

The wise and the fool share the same fate,

Both return to dust, early or late.

Ecclesiastes warns of life’s empty chase,

And calls us to seek God’s eternal grace.

The Teacher reminds us to honor the Lord,

For life’s true meaning is in His Word.

“Fear God and keep His commands,”

This is the duty of all mankind’s hands.

God sees all deeds, both great and small,

And will judge them at the end of it all.

Ecclesiastes calls us to humbly obey,

For God alone gives purpose each day.

Though life is fleeting, joy can be found,

In the blessings of God that abound.

Work and food, family and friends,

Are gifts from God, whose goodness transcends.

Enjoy life’s moments, but don’t forget,

They’re temporary treasures, not permanent yet.

True joy comes from trusting His plan,

For God gives peace to every man.

The Teacher concludes with wisdom profound,

“Fear God, for in Him meaning is found.

Keep His commands, for this is your call,

He will judge every deed, great and small.”

Life is fleeting, but God is sure,

His Word and ways forever endure.

Ecclesiastes ends with this truth to embrace,

Life’s meaning is found in His mercy and grace.

Ecclesiastes teaches that life is brief,

Full of toil, joy, and moments of grief.

Apart from God, all is in vain,

But with Him, purpose and hope remain.

It urges us to trust and obey,

To live for God in every way.

Its wisdom reminds us of life’s true goal,

To honor God with heart and soul.
