Ezekiel
Ezekiel was called by the river’s side,
A prophet of God, to be His guide.
He saw a vision, awesome and grand,
Four living creatures and wheels at hand.
God’s glory shone bright, too great to ignore,
A reminder of His power forevermore.
Ezekiel was sent to a rebellious land,
To speak God’s words and take His stand.
Ezekiel warned of destruction near,
For Judah’s sin, God’s wrath was clear.
The temple defiled, the people astray,
They worshiped idols and turned away.
The glory of God departed in grief,
As judgment fell on the nation’s chief.
Ezekiel cried, “Repent, turn back,”
But they would not leave their sinful track.
God called Ezekiel to be a watchman bold,
To warn the people, as he was told.
“If you fail to speak, their blood’s on you,
But if you warn them, you’ve done what’s true.”
The prophet obeyed, though met with scorn,
A lonely mission, rejected and worn.
Ezekiel reminds us to speak His Word,
To share His truth, though it may go unheard.
Ezekiel’s words were not just for the Jews,
But for other nations who’d refuse.
Ammon, Moab, Egypt, and Tyre,
Would face God’s wrath and consuming fire.
No nation could stand against His might,
For the Lord is sovereign, His ways are right.
His justice is sure, His judgment true,
All nations must bow and worship too.
Amid the warnings, hope is revealed,
A promise of hearts restored and healed.
“I will give you a new heart,” God said,
“And put My Spirit within you instead.
I’ll remove your heart of stone,
And make your heart like My very own.”
Ezekiel points to a day of peace,
When God’s covenant blessings will never cease.
Ezekiel saw a valley of bones,
Dry and lifeless, scattered stones.
God said, “Prophesy, let breath arise,
And see these bones open their eyes.”
The Spirit came, and life was restored,
A mighty army raised by the Lord.
This vision of hope, both clear and bright,
Shows God’s power to bring life from night.
Ezekiel saw a temple anew,
A vision of what God would do.
A place of worship, holy and grand,
Where God’s glory would forever stand.
From the temple, a river would flow,
Bringing life to the nations, wherever it goes.
The book ends with this truth to proclaim:
“The Lord is there”—forever His name.
The book of Ezekiel is rich and deep,
It calls God’s people to repent and weep.
Though judgment comes for sin and pride,
God’s mercy and love still abide.
It points to a future, bright and fair,
When God’s glory will dwell everywhere.
Ezekiel reminds us of God’s great plan,
To restore His people and redeem all man.
