Echoes of Mercy

by Love your neighbor

In the stillness of the night, I felt the weight,
Of every wound and every cruel twist of fate.
My heart, once captive to the pain they gave,
Now yearns for dawn and mercy’s healing wave.

Why clutch the heavy stones of grudges tight,
When our own faults shift like sands in fading light?
For every hurt we’ve sown, each aching plea,
Speaks to the grace our spirits long to see.

Forgive to live, let mercy’s echoes ring,
In freeing others, feel the peace it brings.
No soul without its flaws, no heart unscarred,
Yet mercy’s glow redeems what life has marred.

Who am I to judge what lies beyond my view?
For I have faltered, seeking freedom too.
Let forgiveness flow, a river deep and wide,
To cleanse the wounds and heal what aches inside.

Each act of pardon holds a sacred place,
A mirror reflecting love and boundless grace.
Forgive - not for their worth or pleading cries,
But to plant the seeds where hope and healing rise.

Lift the veil of vengeance, gaze above,
To skies that stretch with endless, patient love.
For in the art of mercy, peace is found,
Where pain dissolves, and grace abounds.

Forgive to live, let mercy’s echoes ring,
In freeing others, feel the peace it brings.
No soul without its flaws, no heart unscarred,
Yet mercy’s glow redeems what life has marred.

So here I stand, with open hands unbound,
Releasing chains that kept my spirit down.
Let mercy bloom within each heart today,
A quiet force to guide us on our way.

How many people had to forgive you today?
